A new year, a fresh start and a new approach.

Being innovative is very important to me and that’s exactly why it’s been so quiet on the blog lately.

I’ve been putting a little bit more effort in interacting on Twitter lately and I must say, I really like it. It’s even become my fix before I go to bed or wake up.

On that note, if you want to follow me…@YSTQ! As simple as that.

When I take a look at my most recent posts, I see that a lot of them have been a collection of inspirational images and not reflections of my own experiences. Since I’m working hard for the money now, yes Dolly, I’m looking at you…I’ve got a little less time for blogging and it seems I wanted to outsmart each and everyone of you by collecting nice images or music and sharing this with you on my blog.

It’s a well known fact that a lot of bloggers do this, it might even be you that I’m talking about and hey, I don’t blame you, but, the blogs that I adore…are the ones where people make effort and do not just recycle existing content.

And yes, I do love music and beautiful images and I love to share them, but, I need to rethink my social media approach and that’s why I intend on making my blog a place where only self-created content will take the leading role.

For example, I love photography and I’ve got an amazing sister. Put these two together an you get some really nice images to share. She’s a looker, that’s for sure!

Twitter will be used to share images and to connect with a lot of people amongst you! This doesn’t mean that the blog will become less important, oh hell no, it will just no longer be a place where I’m going to rant about fabulous pictures on Jak & Jil or another too-die-for editorial in Vogue. No, no, Miss Wintour would disapprove.

And, hold on to your granny panties right now, I might feature outfit posts for the first time! I SHIT YOU NOT SHERLOCK.

While I strongly dislike blogs that feature an unnecessary amount of ‘Look What I’m Wearing’, I must admit that there is a huge lack of guys that dare to put their outfits on there. Anyway, it won’t be easy and I’m still thinking how to work this out, without looking like a Street Style Victim, so stay tuned if you’re in for fun.

Facebook and Twitter will both keep on referring to the blog, whenever a new post is up, no doubt about that! Facebook will also be used to link to other interesting websites, so it will look less like a crazy and out-of-control Twitter account.

Plus, I’m also starting out on Instagram! If you don’t know this yet, you should! You can find me on there as @ystq, again, a no-brainer.

I hope you like the ideas I mentioned in this post, I’m really excited to see how it will change the blogging-experience.

YSTQ LOVES YOU

Dear readers

This post is going to be a bit more personal. I hesitated about writing this, as I like to keep my post light-hearted and focused on other things, as I promised you at the start.

However, I noticed that, for me, blogs are especially appealing when they show a little personal touch as well. Don’t expect me to get personal on you now in every single post, but today, lightning struck in the form of the picture above.

To me, this is one of the best fashion-related posts I’ve seen in a long time. It might be random, but I’ll try to explain you what come to my mind.

So, sit back and enjoy and hereby I invite you to let me know whether you like this approach on YSTQ, comments can be left below. I will shower you with flowers if you do!

The picture is sort of everything that’s happening in my life right now.

In the picture, I see myself as the guy in the middle. He’s wearing white, he’s a white canvas. His thoughts are everywhere and nowhere, he’s on the borderline between freedom, creativity, adventure and a world of uniformity, limited dreams and the quest for happiness.

Style and suits. While one does not exclude the other, when put in the context of everyday life, they sure have a connotation.

It’s inevitable that a suit is the appropriate and sometimes much more preferable attire, if used in the right context, meaning, if it allows you to be yourself…100%.

A suit, and everything surrounding it, will not enhance your persona, your look, your creativity or your intelligence, if it does not feel like a second skin, if it is thus not 100% YOU!

What are you trying to tell us, I hear you asking yourself?

In life, you meet crossroads. These can be moments or people that you’ll experience on your path, often including the time to make decisions.

What I hope 2012 to be about?

Crossing these crossroads, either by going straight ahead or turning in the good direction, but never, never, will I put myself in reverse.

Here’s something I’d like to share with you, it’s the documentary on Visionaries by the OWN network (Hello, Oprah), focusing this time on Tom Ford. So energizing and inspiring, I hope you completely get what I’m saying…

2012 will be about honesty, to myself, to my friends, family and loved ones.

This year will be all about following my true self, when facing the crossroads.

If you reached the end of this post, you’re a hero!
